2025 Flyer Pitch Awards $150K to Emerging Dayton Startups and Nonprofits

The 19th annual Flyer Pitch competition, hosted by the University of Dayton’s L. William Crotty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and sponsored by PNC Bank, the University of Dayton, and the Entrepreneurs’ Center, concluded another successful year of advancing Dayton’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. With $150,000 in cash and in-kind prizes awarded across three competition tracks, the event continues to serve as a leading platform for launching innovative ventures in the region.

Since its inception, Flyer Pitch has supported the creation of over 80 startups, helping founders secure more than $24 million in follow-on capital. This year’s competition featured strong representation from both the campus and the broader Dayton community, and offered participants access to mentorship, business training, and expert feedback from local entrepreneurs, faculty, and business leaders.

2025 Flyer Pitch Winners

Nonprofit Track

  • Thomas Scroggins, Community Closet – $10,000
    Also received the Community Choice Award for an additional $1,000

  • Molly Brockman, Beyond Vision Art – $7,500

  • Nia Bailey, Granny’s Babies – $2,500

Main Street Track

  • Charmaine Webster, The Charming Chapel – $15,000
    Also received the Community Choice Award for an additional $1,000

  • Ben Hadley, Express Energy Gum – $7,500

  • Leslie Jones, Travelling Pendants – $5,000

  • Brian LeCocq, Okoppi Journal – $2,500

Tech Track

  • Hank Veeneman, Saturn Sports – $50,000
    Also received the Community Choice Award for an additional $1,000
    Also received a $25,000 Entrepreneurial Services Provider (ESP) award from The Entrepreneurs’ Center

These awardees represent the diversity and creativity of the Dayton business landscape, from innovative technology solutions and socially impactful nonprofits to community-rooted small businesses.

Flyer Pitch remains one of the region’s most inclusive pitch competitions, welcoming University of Dayton students, faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the Dayton community.
