As the largest university-anchored innovation Hub in the country, UD students have resources and opportunities to learn at the most experimental level. The Hub houses the UD Crotty Center, which offers a distinctive approach to entrepreneurship education with experiences such as starting their own micro-businesses and regular contact with successful entrepreneurs. The Hub is also the new home for classes in the College of Arts and Sciences, entrepreneurship courses, and The GEM, which is a social innovation incubator for the Institute of Applied Creativity (IACT).

Entrepreneurs' Center

Dedicated to supporting all Miami Valley entrepreneurs, the Entrepreneurs' Center brings together resources for new ventures.  From small business, to high-tech, to research commercialization, the center offers free, game-changing opportunities to start-ups and scale-ups.  The Dayton region's entrepreneurs drive innovation, diversify the region's economy, and fuel prosperity.

The Arcade

Cross Street Partners, Model Group, and McCormack Baron Salazar are redeveloping the historic Dayton Arcade, a collection of nine buildings totaling over 500,000 SF in the heart of downtown Dayton’s central business district. The full development plan will recast the Arcade in much the same way it was initially developed in the first decade of the 20th century—with a mix of retail, offices, event space and housing. The first phase of the project, the South Arcade, consists of an innovation center with the University of Dayton as a higher education partner. Included in the South Arcade are 110-unit residential LIHTC and market rate development for artists and creative entrepreneurs, a shared commercial kitchen program, multiple event spaces, and food and beverage-focused retail. The second phase, the North Arcade, will include a marketplace retail and restaurant environment as well as a boutique hotel.
